London's Tottenham has secured an important team defender.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the Spurs have reached an agreement for a new contract with Micky van de Ven.

The Netherlands national team defender attracted interest from several other European clubs this summer, but Tottenham wanted to keep him in their ranks.

All formalities will be arranged soon, and M. van de Ven will sign under a new long-term contract.
