"Man Utd” fans were furious after one of the club’s co-owners, Avram Glazer, shared his opinion on the team’s commercial power.

The billionaire was speaking at the first Deutsche Bank sports investment conference in London. He was asked what connection existed between Man Utd’s results on the football pitch and the club’s commercial appeal.

As reported by The Athletic, the American businessman said that clubs of this stature do not depend on sporting results to maintain their commercial power.

He compared Man Utd with the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, claiming that the global brand value of these organizations can remain strong even when their sporting results fluctuate.

It is hardly surprising that such comments enraged the team’s fans.

One supporter wrote online:

"In short, he said: screw those fans.”

Another wrote: "The football club Man Utd is officially dead. This asshole openly says that we don’t care about winning the Premier League or the Champions League; all that matters is that we keep making money!”

Another fan questioned the logic of the comparison itself:

"Hey, Avram, the Yankees and Cowboys can’t be relegated to a lower league, you idiot.”
