Former Bayern Munich player Roy Makaay is convinced that Harry Kane fully deserved to win the Ballon d'Or.

The Dutchman praised the Englishman for refraining from publicly campaigning during the voting.

"I think that this year, compared with previous years, there were quite a few candidates to win the Ballon d'Or.

However, what I liked most was that the person who ultimately won it—Kane—did not promote himself.

The other two—Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé—constantly said at press conferences that they should be the ones to win.
