Before the match and in the ninth minute, tribute was paid to the late Jesús de Miguel Almeida.

In the 32nd minute, Andalusian player Rubén Vargas missed a penalty.

Alavés recorded their last victory on September 6.

With 13 points, they are in ninth place.

Sevilla are sixth with 18 points.
