"Real” Club Apologized to the People of China

China has now apologized, as has Real Madrid. This followed Kylian Mbappé’s apology after former Chinese dictator Mao Zedong was mentioned in an inappropriate context.

The Spanish club posted on social media: "Real Madrid would like to apologize to all the people of China for the inconvenience caused by our player Kylian Mbappé’s latest statement.”

Even before this apology, the Chinese broadcaster had strongly urged the Spanish club to take action.

The whole uproar began after Kylian Mbappé called Mao Zedong a dictator. China is trying to deny this label.
