"Barcelona” are facing an injury crisis in defence.

Following Xavi Espart’s injury, the Catalan club have only four fit first-team defenders in their squad—João Cancelo, Alejandro Balde, Pau Cubarsí and Gerard Martín.

Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé, Eric García and the aforementioned Xavi Espart are injured.

Barcelona will have to cope with this situation at least until the next international break. After that, several players may return to the squad.
