Despite the team’s tragic form, Michael Carrick remains at the helm of Manchester United.

On Sunday, the "Red Devils” suffered a 0–3 home defeat to Bournemouth, and there was little doubt that Michael Carrick would be sacked.

However, on Tuesday, several journalists reported that the club had decided to give the Englishman more time, and he will lead the team in this Saturday’s upcoming match against Chelsea.

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst reports that Manchester United’s hierarchy are not convinced that the potential candidates to replace Michael Carrick would guarantee success for the club.

The Telegraph journalist James Ducker adds that Michael Carrick’s position remains extremely fragile, and the away match against Chelsea could prove pivotal.

United continue to actively search for a possible replacement for the Englishman, but want to give him another opportunity to rectify the situation at the club.
