World champion Lamine Yamal is putting his name forward this year to win the "Ballon d'Or".

The "Barcelona" star is trying in every way to be noticed and to speak on this topic. In his words, one can even see a hint directed at other candidates, like Harry Kane, who scored 73 goals in the last football season.

To the "Movistar" channel, L. Yamal said: "I think the Ballon d'Or should go to the best player in the world, that's a fact. It’s not for the player who scored 80 goals, since scoring 80 goals you get the "Golden Boot" and that's it. These are very different things that people do not understand."

The best player in the world is the one – as commentators note – that you enjoy watching and think, "He is different from everyone else."

When the award goes to the best, not to the one who scored the most goals or won the most titles, that prize will regain its value," L. Yamal said.
