Italy national team coach Roberto Mancini will need to armor himself with patience.

According to journalist Nicolo Schiros, promising "Brugge" forward Nicolo Tresoldi intends to decline the "Squadra Azzurra" national team's invitation to the upcoming Nations League matches.

It was previously reported that the player, who represented Germany's youth national team in the past, had already decided to play for the Italy national team.

In the past, Mancini himself had met with the 22-year-old footballer and tried to convince him to make a crucial decision.

However, according to the press, Tresoldi needs more time to choose between the Germany and Italy national teams.

He had an extremely successful 2025–2026 season – representing "Brugge," he scored 23 goals and provided nine assists. Tresoldi also started the new season well – in seven matches, he has already scored five goals.
