The eighth round of the German football championship featured an intriguing "Der Klassiker” encounter, in which Bayern Munich drew 2–2 at home with Borussia Dortmund.

Both teams had 17 points before the match, making this encounter particularly important in the battle for first place.

The hosts started the match more actively. In the 10th minute, Michael Olise rattled the crossbar with a powerful shot. However, Borussia Dortmund also created dangerous chances, and in the 34th minute, Jobe Bellingham’s goal was disallowed after a VAR review.

In the 38th minute, Bayern finally took the lead. Konrad Laimer capitalized on a rebound and beat Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

After the break, the hosts had an excellent opportunity to double their advantage, but in the 56th minute, Harry Kane missed a penalty. They soon paid for this mistake, as Serhou Guirassy equalized in the 60th minute.

Nevertheless, Bayern quickly regained the initiative. In the 66th minute, Dayot Upamecano scored following an attack created by Kane and Laimer, putting the hosts 2–1 ahead.

Just when it seemed that the Munich club would secure an important victory, Fabio Silva scored an equalizer in the 89th minute to earn the visitors a point.
