Renowned football pundit Jamie Carragher told Aston Villa fans to shut up and said that their club would never be as big as Manchester United while discussing Unai Emery’s future in England.
Following these remarks, Aston Villa issued a statement saying that they would take legal action against J. Carragher.
However, the situation ended with the former centre-back publicly apologising to the Birmingham club.
"I would like to apologise to Aston Villa—their owners and supporters. My words this week were careless, and I was wrong.
I can reassure Villa fans that they were simply innocuous comments, but I can understand their outrage, so I apologise. Good luck to you today!” J. Carragher wrote.
