Curious episode: referee F. Zwayer needed assistance at the end of the match

In the match between the USA and Australia, well-known European referee Felix Zwayer encountered problems.

As the match was coming to an end, during stoppage time, the German had to lie down on the ground. He began to feel strong muscle cramps, prompting nearby players and other referees to try to help.

One of the referees quickly brought F. Zwayer a small bottle from which he drank. It could have contained magnesium.

Soon, the German referee continued the match, with about 5 minutes remaining until the end.
