Lithuanian coach Valdas Dambrauskas has attracted the attention of one of Turkey’s most prominent clubs.
This season, the Lithuanian unexpectedly guided Baku’s "Sabah” to the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, where the team earned one win in its first three matches.
It appears that the coach’s successful work has not gone unnoticed in Europe.
According to Italian journalist Alessio Alaimo, Istanbul club "Fenerbahçe” has already shown interest in Dambrauskas.
It is reported that the Lithuanian is one of the candidates to take over as head coach after İsmail Kartal stepped down several days ago.
On Wednesday, "Fenerbahçe” officially announced that former Netherlands international Dirk Kuyt had been appointed as the team’s interim coach.
Just two years ago, the Istanbul club was managed by the famous José Mourinho, who currently coaches "Real Madrid”.
