Construction of the National Stadium has reached a historic milestone © EF

About the rapidly rising National Stadium construction, the Mayor of Vilnius, Valdas Benkunskas, wrote on social media.

"An important moment – the construction of the National Stadium has progressed further than at any point in the long history of the project!

About 80 percent of the stadium's reinforced concrete structures have been installed – for comparison, the constructions of the stadium that began in the Soviet era had reached approximately 25-35 percent of the structural level before they were demolished in 2022.

After nearly four decades of the National Stadium's history, this is the first time the project has a clear completion plan and has reached a stage where the entire structure of the future building can almost be seen.

Currently, other works are also underway: water supply, sewage, and other engineering networks are being laid, infrastructure for training is being developed, VIP and commercial zones are being formed, and preparations are being made for the implementation of technological solutions that meet UEFA Category IV requirements. This area will change beyond recognition – the residents of Vilnius have long deserved this,” wrote V. Benkunskas.
