The Curaçao team had to endure a real onslaught from their opponents – the Ecuadorians controlled the ball 75% of the time and took 27 shots.

The goal of the 156,000-strong nation was reliably guarded by 37-year-old Eloy Room, who saved 15 shots and became the all-time tournament record holder in this category (counting without extra time).
