The France national football team returned empty-handed from the World Cup.

After a promising start to the tournament, Didier Deschamps' team later stumbled in the semifinals against the Spaniards, and last night lost 4:6 in the "bronze" match against the English.

It has been noted that the French conceded that many goals for the first time since 1960, when they lost 2:6 to Switzerland.

The biggest defeat for "Les Bleus" remains the 1:17 loss to Denmark at the 1908 London Olympics.
