The Canadian national team failed to start their performance in the World Championship on a winning note.

One of the World Championship hosts drew 1:1 with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Before the match, during the opening ceremony, television viewers noticed a lot of empty seats.

However, it was later officially reported that 40,000 spectators watched the match in the 45,000-seat arena.
