After three consecutive victories in Top League, "Žalgiris" suffered a painful defeat - under the blazing summer sun, the residents of Vilnius lost 0:3 (0:1) to "Bangai" in the 18th round match in Gargždai.

After the match, the guest coach Andrius Skerla spoke about mistakes.

"I have to take responsibility for this defeat. After three victories, I probably didn’t find the right words to convince the team that this would be very difficult. And so it was. The opponents defended very well today.

I think they didn’t create the first goal; we let them create it by losing the ball. This made the situation even more difficult.

Today there were many unprovoked losses. Every time we lost the ball, the opponents rushed into counterattacks and they were quite dangerous. We should be glad that there were only three goals,” admitted "Žalgiris" head coach Andrius Skerla.

According to the Vilnius strategist, during the last three wins, the team managed to harmonize the styles of play: "There were fewer problems on the field than before. But today I saw many mistakes again, many ball losses. We returned to those old tracks that we wouldn’t want to be on.

We would like stability. Time is needed, but we don’t have it. We have to swallow this bitter pill, analyze, look at where we are going wrong, correct mistakes, and not repeat them.”
