Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi was outraged by how quickly opinions of a player change:

"Two weeks ago, you said that Mateus Fernandes was a poor signing and not good enough.

You play one good game and suddenly you’re being compared to Luka Modrić...”

"The next day, you’re a poor player again and can’t play.”

Mateus Fernandes was signed for 80 million euros in the summer.

The Portuguese player has made ten appearances this season.
