A serious crisis has hit the Italy national team.

The returning coach Roberto Mancini has little choice among candidates and is forced to look to weaker foreign leagues.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that as the Nations League matches approach, the Italian plans to call up Nurnberg forward Mohamed Ali Zoma.

This season, the 21-year-old player is showing excellent form - he has scored five goals in five Bundesliga 2 matches.

Overall, M. A. Zoma has scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 35 matches for the German club.

In the upcoming international window, the Italy team will face Belgium, Turkey (twice), and France in the group stage of the Nations League.
