The new head coach of London’s Chelsea club, Xabi Alonso, did not hold back on his praise for Mykhailo Mudryk, who has returned after a doping scandal:

"I remember watching M. Mudryk in the Shakhtar team.

I liked the Ukrainian's influence and how good he looked in one-on-one situations."

"M. Mudryk can create situations for himself because he is a special player.

Honestly... We did not expect such a good match, but we are very happy."

25-year-old Mykhailo Mudryk has been playing for Chelsea since 2023 and has scored three goals in 15 matches.

The last time the Ukrainian played was in the 2024-2025 season.
