In the latest UEFA Champions League match before the knockout stage, a conflict broke out in Lisbon between Benfica midfielder Gianluca Prestianni and Real forward Vinicius Junior.
G. Prestianni was accused of racism against the star of the royal club.
UEFA started an investigation, and a decision was made only in April, after more than two months had passed.
UEFA handed a six-match suspension to G. Prestianni.
Nevertheless, three matches are suspended, and G. Prestianni would only be unable to play if a similar incident occurs again. He has already had to miss one match.
The 20-year-old Argentine will have to miss a total of two upcoming matches in UEFA tournaments.
The report states that G. Prestianni was punished for homophobia, not racism.
