First League tension – Plungė’s Babrungas leapfrogged Minija and moved closer to the TOP LEAGUE

It appears that, after a very long wait, Plungė will have its own team in Lithuania’s top football division.

This weekend, Plungė’s "Babrungas” emphatically defeated the "Hegelmann” reserve team 4–0.

Meanwhile, "Minija” dropped points after losing 1–2 away to BFA.

"Minija” has one game in hand, but even a win would not be enough to overtake "Babrungas,” as the Samogitian side holds the head-to-head advantage.

"Minija” may have to play a playoff tie against "Šiauliai” for a place in the TOP LYGA. Two rounds remain until the end of the season.
