Kobbie Mainoo will stay long-term in the Manchester United squad.
On Thursday, the club officially announced that a new contract has been signed with the 21-year-old England national team player.
The new Kobbie Mainoo contract will be valid until the summer of 2031.
"This club has always been my home. I grew up seeing the impact the club has on the city of Manchester, and I understand the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt," - said Kobbie Mainoo after signing the contract.
Interestingly, there was much talk last winter about a possible departure of Kobbie Mainoo, when the then-Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim did not see a place for him in the squad. However, everything changed with the arrival of Michael Carrick, who sees Kobbie Mainoo as one of the key figures in the team's play.
Kobbie Mainoo, forever United ✍️❤️
