In Saturday’s Spanish La Liga match against Alavés, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick plans to make a number of changes to the lineup.

According to Diario SPORT, the German is considering rotating several players, as the club face difficult matches against Aston Villa, Atlético Madrid and Villarreal in the near future.

The Catalans’ biggest problems are in defense.

Jules Koundé will be unavailable, Eric García hopes to return to the pitch only for the match against Atlético, while Xavi Espart will be out for even longer due to an ankle injury.

Alejandro Balde could return to the starting lineup, while Brian Fariñas may be given playing time in the unfamiliar position of right-back.

Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín and João Cancelo will probably be given a rest.

In midfield, Pedri and Rodri showed signs of fatigue after the El Clásico, so Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal and Gavi could be given more opportunities.

In attack, Karim Adeyemi could replace Anthony Gordon, while Gabriel Jesus is being considered as a possible starting center-forward in place of Raphinha.
