M. Carrick on his future: 'Everything will resolve itself' © zumapress

In January, Michael Carrick, who took over at Manchester United, is approaching the team's return to the UEFA Champions League.

The Red Devils currently occupy third place and have almost secured a spot in the top five.

However, Carrick is still not sure about his place for next season, as he has only signed a contract with Man Utd until the end of the season.

The strategist himself downplays the current situation and states that everything will resolve itself.

"I'm not thinking about any deadlines for when my future should be decided. Everything will resolve itself," Carrick said while speaking with the BBC.

The current situation of the Man Utd strategist is compared to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who became interim manager at the end of 2018, and later his contract was extended. However, in 2021, the Norwegian was ultimately dismissed.

Despite the similarities, Carrick is not inclined to compare these situations.

"I have immense respect for Solskjaer. We worked well together.

It's always possible to compare the situations of different managers, but there's no point in doing so. It's neither negative nor positive; all situations are different. We are a different team now, and it doesn't really matter who is coaching it," Carrick added.
