Chelsea suffer defeat in a rainy London derby.

Chelsea lost 2–0 at home to Tottenham.

Both teams had chances in the first half, but the goals came only late in the match.

In the 77th minute, Chelsea’s new goalkeeper Mike Penders scored an own goal.

In the 80th minute, Cole Palmer was shown a red card after receiving his second yellow for a reckless foul on Conor Gallagher. In fact, he could have been given his marching orders earlier for a foul on Mateus Fernandes.

In the 87th minute, Mathys Tel scored after a superb run to put the result beyond doubt.

Tottenham now have nine points.
