Real Madrid’s management is beginning to question coach José Mourinho’s future.
According to journalists Jorge C. Picón and Sergio Valentín, club president Florentino Pérez has already begun voicing his dissatisfaction, although the Portuguese coach still has the support of the players.
After returning to the Santiago Bernabéu during the off-season, Mourinho was given considerable freedom to make decisions regarding the squad and the signing of new players. The club also invested heavily in strengthening the team.
However, the style of play shown at the start of the season has reportedly failed to meet the president’s expectations so far.
Among the coach’s decisions causing dissatisfaction are Yan Diomande’s limited role in the starting line-up and Mourinho’s decision to substitute Arda Güler during a match.
The management is also said to be irritated by the current team’s similarities to last season’s side, particularly its style of play and certain decisions made by the coach when selecting the line-up.
According to Valentín, Pérez has already hinted to those close to him that Didier Deschamps would be his preferred choice if Real decided to part ways with Mourinho.
The France national team coach boasts an impressive career, having become a world champion both as a player and as a coach.
