England's Premier League legend James Milner has announced his retirement.

The 40-year-old Englishman announced the end of his long career on social media.

"I had the privilege of experiencing invaluable moments – from fighting for survival to winning trophies. I also had the privilege of representing my country's honor in European and World Championships.

However, even more important are the people and friends I met throughout all these years," wrote J. Milner.

The Englishman recently defended Brighton's honor.

James Milner holds the record for the most matches played in the Premier League – 658 games.
