Football fans can already mark October 26 of this year in their calendars.

It has been officially announced that on this day in London, the "Ballon d'Or" award ceremony will be held.

The English capital was chosen intentionally to pay tribute to the first trophy winner, the Englishman Stanley Matthews.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the awards.
