Madrid's "Real" player Federico Valverde will need to undergo a lengthy rehabilitation process.

Journalist Arancha Rodriguez reports that the royal club's player will return to the field only after the international break.

"Real" confirmed that the Uruguayan national team's footballer has been diagnosed with a grade three leg muscle strain.

He sustained the injury in the Madrid derby match on Sunday, where "Real" lost 1:2 to "Atletico."

It is expected that F. Valverde will return to the field for the match against "Villarreal" on October 10.
