The second qualifying round of the Champions League was successful for Lithuanians representing foreign teams.
Valdas Dambrauskas's team Baku "Sabah" defeated Finnish champions "KuPS" 2:0 away.
In total, the Azerbaijani team won 3:0 against the Finns, with Veljko Simić scoring two goals during the series.
"Celje", with three Lithuanians in their lineup, drew 2:2 with "Egnatia" and advanced to the next round only after a penalty shootout.
All three Lithuanians Pijus Širvys, Armandas Kučys, and Artemijus Tutyškinas were in the starting eleven. However, only the latter lasted until the end and also successfully converted a penalty.
In the next round, "Sabah" will likely play against Poznań's "Lech", while "Celje" is definitely awaiting a matchup with "Ararat-Armenia".
