Xavi: 'I would like to work in the Premier League and manage a long-term project' © Reuters

Former FC Barcelona player and head coach Xavi Hernandez praised the current specialist Hansi Flick and his work, the league in which he would like to work, and the opportunities given to Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubars:

"H. Flick came to me, and we talked for two hours. We have a good relationship.

He said that he is very grateful to me. The German thanked me for the team he has now. The players train hard, and according to H. Flick, they inherited such a mentality from me.”

"I want to return to coaching. I would really like to work in the Premier League.

I want a good project – one where I could work for four years and create that kind of project.”

"I am happy and proud that I gave debuts to L. Yamal and P. Cubars. L. Yamal is a genius. He will become the best football player in the world.

Ronald Koeman also deserves praise for introducing Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and other young players into the first team.”

45-year-old Xavi Hernandez is not coaching any club this season, having worked at Barcelona since November 2021.
