"Kauno Žalgirio” futsal team continues to work on assembling its roster for the upcoming 2026/2027 season. Joining the Lithuanian champions is goalkeeper Edgaras Noreika.
In recent seasons, the 21-year-old goalkeeper has gained experience with various Lithuanian futsal teams. In the 2025/2026 season, he represented the Vilkaviškis "Brooklyn” team, and before that, he played for Mažeikiai VIP and FC "Hegelmann” futsal teams.
"I would describe myself as a calm, confident, and hardworking goalkeeper. Over the past seasons, I have accumulated quite a bit of experience working with different coaches and playing in different teams. All of this has helped me to trust myself more on the field, make better decisions, and pay attention to details that often have a great significance in matches,” said E. Noreika.
The goalkeeper's successful performance did not go unnoticed by the national team. This spring, E. Noreika represented the Lithuanian men’s futsal national team in the qualifying tournament for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
"Representing the Lithuanian national team was a very valuable experience. I had the opportunity to work with high-level players and coaches and compete against strong international opponents. This experience gave me even more confidence, helped me to improve my game, and allowed me to better understand the requirements of top-level futsal. I bring the accumulated experience, great motivation, and a desire to help the team achieve its goals to "Kauno Žalgiris,” said the new Žalgiris player.
