The Scotland national team had a hard-fought victory to start their appearance in the World Cup.

In Group C matches, the Europeans defeated Haiti 1:0.

The only goal of the match came in the 29th minute when J. McGinn struck precisely.

Right at the end of the match, the Scots began accumulating yellow cards, with F. Curtis and K. McLean being booked.

S. Clarke's team was outdone by their opponents both in ball possession (46% to 54%) and in total shots on goal (7 to 11).

Scotland will play their next match against the Moroccan team on June 20.
