Austrian national team coach Ralf Rangnick after the dramatic 3:3 draw with Algeria tried to deny rumors of a teams' agreement to finish the match in a draw.

A draw would have suited both teams as both would have progressed to the next stage. However, during added time, Algeria scored a goal and sent Austria to the edge of the abyss. Soon after, the Austrians managed to equalize the score.

R. Rangnick stated after the match: "Anyone who watched the last 15 minutes could see that the players had no intention of finishing the match in a draw.

And when the match ends with a score of 3:3, no one can suspect that there was any agreement, especially considering what we saw in the last 90 seconds.

If someone had said that with three minutes left, this would happen, you would have told them they were crazy.”
