U. Hoeness: It would be nonsense to give the "Golden Ball" to L. Messi

Munich's "Bayern" honorary president Uli Hoeness believes that the team's forward Harry Kane deserves to win the "Ballon d'Or" after an impressive 2025–2026 season.

"He truly deserves it. I hope that the Englishman wins," said U. Hoeness. "H. Kane has had an outstanding season in all competitions."

If he doesn't receive this award this year, then when will he deserve it?"

The 74-year-old German also questioned the chances of H. Kane's main competitors, particularly Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

"I think it would be nonsense to award L. Messi the "Ballon d'Or" for the ninth time," said U. Hoeness.

Speaking about K. Mbappe, he added: "They haven't won any titles, while we've won two."
