The Spanish referees' technical committee is doubtful whether it is worth applying the "Vinicius rule" in the upcoming season.

This summer, FIFA decided to respond strictly to possible manifestations of racism on the pitch and prohibited players from covering their mouths while speaking on the field.

The strength of the organization's wand has already been experienced by two players participating in the World Cup.

Still, the Spaniards are shaking their heads.

According to "Diario AS," FIFA's initiative did not impress them – referees are more reluctant to penalize innocent players who might discuss tactical nuances on the field.

The "Vinicius rule" gained momentum after the conflict involving Vinicius and Gianluca Prestianni from Lisbon's "Benfica" last season.
