The victory of Mexico against the Ecuador national team claimed the lives of fans.

The Health Ministry of this country informs that after the World Cup round of 16 match, where the tournament hosts triumphed 2:0 over their South American opponents, a mass fan celebration erupted in Mexico City.

In large groups of fans, at least two people lost their lives. They were a 19-year-old girl and a 44-year-old man.

The cause of their deaths was asphyxiation.
