The 17th round of "TOPLYGOS" continued in Telšiai, where the football lovers of this season witnessed the surprising "Džiugas," sitting in first place on the tournament table, and the fluctuating FA "Šiauliai." In a dramatic match, the players from Šiauliai were close to scoring, but at the last moment, Tomas Stelmokas secured the victory for his team with a score of 4:3 (2:0).
Just after the match began, the guest midfielder Karolis Žebrauskas struck powerfully from outside the penalty area, but the team was saved by the successfully playing goalkeeper Marius Paukštė.
Midway through the half, a fire broke out at the Šiauliai goal – the goalkeeper Paulius Linkevičius, leaving his goal, headed the ball away, but it successfully fell to Denys Bunčiukov, who failed to find the net from a long distance.
In the 38th minute, the first goal of the match fell. P. Linkevičius deflected Viliaus Piliukaitis's shot into the far corner of the goal, but the first to rush to the ball and send it to the net was none other than the attacking leader Ronald Sobowale. The guests' problems did not end there – after a few more minutes of play, following V. Piliukaitis's pass, the advantage of the Telšiai team was doubled by Denys Bunčiukov.
Andrius Lipskis’s students were not planning to stop in the second half of the match – V. Piliukaitis recorded another assist, and Valentino Vermeulens sent the ball into the empty net.
When it seemed that everything was clear in this match, Nedas Garbaliauskas spoke up. In the 59th minute, the striker redirected the ball into the net following Patrikas Pranckaus's pass, and after a few more moments, with an acrobatic shot, he again defeated M. Paukštė.
The drama continued – in the 77th minute, a penalty was awarded to the hosts. Standing at the 11-meter mark, Lazaras Vukovičius did not miss and equalized the score – 3:3. However, the football gods were on the side of the home team – already in the added time of the referee, T. Stelmokas scored the winning goal, lifting the spectators from their seats.
