FIFA opens investigation into racist attack against IShowSpeed

FIFA has launched an investigation into a racist attack that allegedly involved American influencer IShowSpeed.

The incident occurred during the World Cup Round of 16 match in which Argentina defeated the Green Hills team 3-2.

IShowSpeed, who has 57 million YouTube subscribers and 53 million TikTok followers, hosts his usual streams during the tournament, featuring celebrities such as Zlatan Ibrahimović and Gianni Infantino.

FIFA received a complaint that on July 3, during the match, IShowSpeed, who was wearing the Green Hills team's jersey, became involved in a conflict with an Argentina team supporter and received unpleasant remarks directed at him.

"The World Cup is a celebration of unity, diversity, and respect," FIFA stated in a statement. "It brings together people, cultures, and communities from all over the world, so there is no place in our game for those who undermine these values with their behavior."
