Colombia's football is a celebration.
After the victory against the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team, Colombia secured a place in the World Cup playoffs. This is only the fourth time in their football history.
The last round features an important match against Portugal, where a battle for first place in the group will take place. A draw would be enough for the Colombians in this match, which would result in a significantly easier path at least to the tournament quarterfinals. The second team in the group could face the Spanish national team in the round of 16.
At the same time, yesterday several teams lost their chances to compete for the playoffs – Uzbekistan severely damaged its goal difference in Group K, while in Group L, Panama lost all chances to advance further.
