The long-time president of Madrid's Real club, Florentino Pérez, has chosen his favorite to take over the team's reins.

According to The Athletic journalists David Ornstein and Mario Cortegana, Pérez would like to see 63-year-old specialist José Mourinho at the helm of Real.

There are mixed opinions within the club regarding this choice. However, the Portuguese is currently regarded as one of the main favorites to take over the royal club's reins.

According to The Athletic, Mourinho has a release clause of 3 million euros in his contract with Benfica.
