The Portugal national team proved that they can achieve victories even without Cristiano Ronaldo – in the UEFA Nations League match away, they defeated Denmark 4:2.
Before the match, there was plenty of drama – the long-time guest leader decided to leave the national team's camp.
It is reported that the 41-year-old player felt betrayed, as head coach Jorge Jesus did not publicly apologize for not allowing him to play in the previous match against Norway.
Nonetheless, a moment related to C. Ronaldo was recorded during the match.
Denmark forward Rasmus Hojlund scored an impressive goal in the second half, and after it, the player performed C. Ronaldo's well-known "siuuu" celebration, seemingly taunting his opponents.
It seems that the tension grew even more after the final referee's whistle. Portugal's coach Jorge Jesus approached to shake Hojlund's hand, but he seemed to slightly push the Portugal national team's strategist.
Hojlund had previously admitted to being a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo.
