Football fans have been complaining for years about the rising prices of their favorite teams' shirts.
The prices of the shirts of the most famous clubs have already exceeded 100 euros, and it seems that they will continue to rise.
BBC conducted a study during which it was investigated under what conditions some workers producing shirts for the most famous European clubs operate.
During the study, BBC communicated with workers from two factories in Cambodia.
BBC reveals that workers operating under extremely difficult conditions must produce 700 shirts a day, and if they fail to do so, they face penalties.
The majority of workers in such factories are women, and they earn about one euro per hour. People work in these factories six days a week and receive about 190 euros per month. It is worth noting that this wage fits within the minimum wage regulations in Cambodia.
"I want football fans to realize that the shirts they purchase cost more than what the person producing them earns in a month,” said one of the workers from the factory in Cambodia who agreed to participate in the study to BBC.
Additionally, it is noted that workers also operate under extremely challenging conditions where the temperature inside exceeds 35 degrees Celsius.
In these factories, shirts for clubs such as "Arsenal,” "Real,” or "Liverpool” are produced by "Adidas,” whose representatives assured that workers’ conditions are continuously evaluated.
