FIFA president Gianni Infantino has received alarming signals.
"Talksport” reports that a vote may soon take place on whether the Swiss can remain in his position.
UEFA, CONCACAF, and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are considering initiating a vote of no confidence against G. Infantino.
A FIFA official particularly angered football representatives when he proposed trying to sell part of the commercial World Cup rights to private investors.
For a vote of no confidence to be held, 43 out of 211 FIFA member associations would need to demand the convening of an extraordinary congress.
So far, no FIFA president has had to face such a vote.
It is stated that G. Infantino will seek another term during the FIFA presidential elections in March 2027.
