Futsal season will start with the showdown between 'Kauno Žalgiris' and the Akmenė team.

The new season started successfully for "Kauno Žalgiris." In the first round match, the Lithuanian champions defeated Jonavos "Vikingai" 6:1 away and celebrated their first three points. "Akmenės kraštas" also started the championship successfully. The Žalgirian opponents won against Mažeikių VIP 6:3 away.

In September, both teams met in this season's LFF Futsal Super Cup final in Naujoji Akmenė, where the Žalgirians lost to "Akmenės kraštas" 1:3.

"In the Super Cup final, we saw in which situations we need to perform better. Now we have other matches ahead, so it is crucial to learn from that encounter, correct our mistakes, and show better play on the field," said "Kauno Žalgiris" team captain Justinas Zagurskas before the upcoming match.

The Saturday meeting will be the first Futsal A league match for the green and whites in Kaunas this season.

"It is always nice to play at home. We want to perform well in front of our fans and strive for another victory. We hope for their support in the stands," said the player.

The match between "Kauno Žalgiris" and FK "Akmenės kraštas" will start on October 3 at 14:00 in the Kauno SM "Startas" arena, and the entrance is free.
