Žalgiris: auditors faced several issues

Vilnius' "Žalgiris" team commented on the financial audit being conducted within the team.

"Some politicians and public figures expressed public concern about whether the audit at Vilnius' 'Žalgiris' is really taking place. 'Is there something to hide?'" - they rhetorically asked.

As we would like to hide only some match results, we respond: Since the beginning of the year, a full audit has been carried out in the club by the company "Audifina". The scope of the audit is very large - five years, thus the work had to be completed by May 4.

However, the auditors encountered several problems - a lack of documents and delayed and complex information provided by the company managing the club's accounting.

The most important data related to the purchases and finances of the former club management was only received in April.

Therefore, "Audifina" requested a one-month extension as stipulated in the contract, and on Monday, when meeting with the club officials, the auditors presented interim work results and their opinions on missing or untraceable documents and possible legal consequences. The audit should be completed by June 4, and its results and the club's further steps will be presented publicly," - wrote "Žalgiris" on social media.
