Legendary forward Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Madrid after leaving the Portugal national team camp in Copenhagen.

A close friend of the footballer and journalist Edu Aguirre revealed the sequence of events.

According to E. Aguirre, the cause of the conflict was a private meeting between C. Ronaldo, Portugal national team head coach Jorge Jesus, and the country's football federation president Pedro Proenca.

During this meeting, J. Jesus apologized to the 41-year-old footballer for instructing him to warm up by the pitch for about 30 minutes during the match against Norway, but ultimately did not let him onto the field.

The coach also promised to publicly acknowledge his mistake during an official press conference, apologize to C. Ronaldo, and explain the situation.

However, according to E. Aguirre, J. Jesus did not fulfill his promise. At the press conference, the coach emphasized his authority in the team, downplayed the significance of the incident, and implied that C. Ronaldo is just another player and must abide by the coach's decisions.

C. Ronaldo assessed the coach's statements as untruthful and an attempt to publicly demonstrate his power. Feeling betrayed, the Portuguese packed his belongings and flew to Spain on a private jet.
