Italy may lose the right to host the European Championship

Italy faces the threat of losing the right to host the 2032 European Championship.

This would happen if a political commissioner were appointed to the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has already clearly stated the organization's position.

As reported by "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the Slovene warned that political interference in FIGC activities could cost Italy the right to host the tournament.

If Italy loses the right to host the tournament, it would also lose one of the strongest incentives to modernize its stadium infrastructure – in this area, the country still lags significantly behind many European nations.

The CONI board will vote on this issue on Tuesday.

Italy would co-host the 2032 championship with Turkey.
